There are currently 11 churches and over 50 places where saints gather, with more than 1,500 saints across the country. The largest concentration of saints is in Addis Ababa, where over 400 saints actively participate in the church life. The church life in Ethiopia continues to grow as more and more saints come into the enjoyment of the Lord and learn to serve.
The Lord continues to use the full-time training in Addis Ababa to raise up serving saints for the churches in Africa. Since it began in 2019, the Lord has used the Training to raise up 42 full-time serving ones in Ethiopia alone. In addition, saints from Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Uganda, Angola, and Madagascar have also passed through the Training in Addis Ababa and many of them are now serving full-time in their respective countries. In the current spring term, 53 trainees from seven countries are enrolled at the FTTAA.
Amharic and Afaan Oromo are the two most widely spoken languages in Ethiopia, while a small percentage of the population understands English. As such, the translation of the ministry into Amharic and Afaan Oromo is vitally important for the supply of the saints and the spreading of the ministry. Currently, three full-time brothers and three full-time sisters are dedicated to translating and distributing the ministry materials in the two predominant languages. The Lord continues to greatly blessed this labor.
In Addis Ababa alone, over 250 children and young people are being shepherded in the church life. A number of saints and full-time serving ones are faithfully labouring on the young people, and the Lord is blessing this labor of love by raising up a second generation that treasures the Lord and the church life.
The churches follow the content of the seven feasts through daily enjoyment of the word with the help of the Holy Word for Morning Revival. The spoken messages are also translated so that the saints can enjoy listening and watching the delivery of the messages in Amharic. Annually, there are also two national blending conferences per year in December and April.
The saints in Ethiopia gather regularly to enjoy the Lord corporately. They partake of the Lord’s Table weekly, prophesy for the building up of the church and come together to pray for the Lord’s interests. Various meetings — including vital group meetings, home meetings, coordination meetings for service, and ministry meetings — help to strengthen the church life.
Annually, in August the Perfecting Training is held for the participation of many college age and working saints. Over the years these trainings have been effective in equipping the saints, enabling them to release their function as living functioning members in the church life.
The Summer School of Truth is held annually for young people between the ages of 12 and 18. This time of focused learning of the truth, corporate pursuit, and fellowship is greatly appreciated by the young saints.
The Lord is also moving at the universities where a number of full-time serving ones, saints, and full-time trainees labor on the campuses. This work has become a valuable channel for shepherding young graduates into the Full-Time Training.
